Build locally led sustainable livelihood Resilience

All aspects of livelihood sectors in Myanmar, particularly in ethnic areas are dramatically deteriorating everyday due to the increased acceleration of fighting between State Administration Council (SAC) and EAOs including PDFs across the country.
The rate of displacement, unemployment and poverty is increasing due to the fighting between SAC and EAOs as well as SAC’s aerial bombardment and arson attacks such as markets, hospitals, schools and business firms in populated areas. In addition, the deteriorating situations force women and youth to migrate to neighboring countries for employment opportunities but they can’t get decent work opportunities due to lack of required skills. This situation will have negative impacts on generation by generation, particularly women, youth and people with disabilities and minority groups.
We work on
- Upgrading individual technical skills and knowledge of respective livelihood sectors for example, agriculture, livestock, poultry, business planning, entrepreneurship, etc. for vulnerable communities, particularly women and youth.
- Strengthening collaboration between market actors using a systems-based approach. This will include both public and private sectors and will lead to more equitable and sustainable engagements for women and youth.
- Supporting women’s voice and influence in decision-making and policy formulation process at household, community and national levels.
- Supporting community-led climate governance and disaster risk management processes, so that communities can prepare for and recover from crises and “build back better”..
